9 Sample Symbiosis Komensalisme and Explanation

Symbiosis Examples Komensalisme / Literally symbiosis derives from the meaningful greek sym with and biosis which means life. Symbiosis is a close and special relationship between two different kinds of living things. The symbiotic living thing is called a symbiont.

In the biology are known 6 kinds of symbiotic forms, namely symbiosis komensalisme, symbiosis parasitism, symbiosis mutualisme, symbiosis competition, symbiosis neutralism, and symbiosis amensalisme. And in this article, we will only discuss further about the symbiosis of komensalism, from understanding to examples.

Symbiotic Examples of Komensalism

In general, symbiotic komensalism is a pattern of interaction between two different kinds of living beings, in which one symbiosis is benefited and the other symbionts are either disadvantaged or disadvantaged. Here are some examples of symbiontal komensalime that we can find in everyday life.

Symbiotic Examples of Komensalism

1. Betel plant (Piper betle) with its host plant

The first example of a symbathosis komensalime can be found in the interaction of betel and its host plants. Betel plants will propagate to follow the host plant to obtain sunlight that is useful for photosynthesis, while the host plants do not get any effect.

2. Orchid (Phalanopsis amabilis) with mango tree (Mangifera indica)

The orchid plants of the moon will easily grow and multiply by sticking to mango trees to get sunlight, water, and substances needed for photosynthesis. The roots of the orchid will absorb water and minerals from outside the bark of the tree that it occupies or absorb inorganic substances from the skin of the weathered stem of its host plants, whereas for the mango tree itself it has no effect.

3. Nail plant with teak plant (Tectona grandis)

Examples of komensalime symbiosis can also be found in the interaction between nail and teak plants. Nail plants attach (epifit) to teak plants to obtain sunlight, while teak trees do not get any influence from the existence of nail plants.

4. Remora fish (Echeneida sp) with shark (Carcharhinus longimanus)

Remora fish are always attached to sharks to keep them safe because the predatory fish are afraid of the sharks, besides the remora fish will also find it easier to get the food from the sharks, while the shark itself is not harmed or harmed by the presence of the remora fish.

5. Remora fish (Echeneida sp) with stingray (Himantura undulata)

Similarly, the pattern of interaction with sharks, remora fish attached to stingrays by using the dorsal fin that has been turned into a sucker, if the stingrays get prey then the remora fish will get the rest of the food attached to the stingray, while the stingray does not benefit or harmed by the presence of remora fish.

6. Shrimp (Lysmata grabhami) with sea cucumber (Cucumaria frondosa)

Shrimps riding sea cucumbers to pick up leftovers, while sea cucumbers are not benefited or harmed by the presence of shrimp.

7. Goby fish with sea urchins (Echinus esculentus)

Contoh Simbiosis Komensalisme
Goby fish hide among cracks of toxic pig fur to protect their small body from predatory attacks that will prey on them, while sea urchins are not benefited or harmed by the presence of goby fish.

Symbiotic Examples of Komensalism

8. Clown fish (Amphiprion percula) with sea Anemone (Stichodactyla gigantea)

Clown fish will be protected from its predators because it lives among the tentacles of the anemone. Anemones release toxic substances that can injure other fish. But the clown fish will not get hurt because of its protective mucus skin. Clown fish will be protected from enemies while anemones are not benefited or harmed by the presence of clown fish. Therefore the interaction of clown fish and sea anemone can also be classified as a symbiotic example of komensalisme.

9. Bacterial decomposition in human intestines

The decaying bacteria living in the human colon absorb the food substances that are not digested by the human body. In this case, the bacterium runs a symbiotic example of komensalism because it benefits, but the human being in it has no effect.

Such is the understanding and examples of symbiotic komensalism that we can explain. Can any of you mention any other example of symbiotic komensalism? Please include an answer in the comments field.
